Summary:Join our team as an Ammonia Refrigeration Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facility's refrigeration system. Your responsibilities will include operating and maintaining the ammonia refrigeration system, performing minor repairs and upgrades, and contributing to the overall facility maintenance. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, troubleshoot issues, and implement process improvements to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency. This role demands a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous learning.Key Responsibilities:Adhere to food safety, GMPs, HACCP, and occupational safety policies, supporting safety initiatives and addressing concerns.Serve as an Operator for the ammonia refrigeration system, performing repairs and upgrades as needed.Troubleshoot, correct, and repair electrical equipment efficiently and effectively.Complete non-electrical maintenance tasks and manage projects involving contractors.Propose process improvements to enhance efficiency and minimize downtime.Conduct root cause analysis to eliminate recurring problems.Maintain a clean work area and accurate records.Be available for call-in situations and flexible to complete critical assignments.Assume accountability for key plant systems, ensuring their proper functioning.Required Skills/Experience:Proficiency in reading and following Standard Operating Procedures.Willingness to participate in audits and collaborate with government agencies.Knowledge of electricity, electronics, and electro-mechanical systems.Experience with motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and electrical schematics.Basic pipe fitting abilities and understanding of Piping and Instrumentation diagrams.Comfort working at heights or confined spaces and passing pulmonary physical and fit tests.Team-oriented with a hunger for learning and teaching.Ability to make sound decisions in high-stress situations.Effective communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).Strong initiative and decision-making skills.Desired Skills/Experience:RETA Certifications in Ammonia Refrigeration (CIRO, CARO).Previous experience in Commercial/Industrial refrigeration, with a preference for Ammonia systems.Hazmat training.Basic knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) and recordkeeping.Proficiency in maintaining and updating electronic records (Microsoft Office Suite).Working knowledge of single-stage and two-stage pump recirculated systems.If you're looking for a dynamic role in a fast-paced environment, with the opportunity to contribute to critical operations while promoting safety and efficiency, this position offers the perfect platform for your expertise and enthusiasm.
