If so, then we want you on our team! * BCBS Medical, Delta Dental, and Retirement benefits administered through Local 649* 401(k)* Paid time off* 10 paid holidays* Competitive wages* Company uniforms provided* Work schedule: M-F, day shift Responsibilities Our construction equipment group is seeking a full-time CDL A Truck Driver for our Bloomington, IL branch for the day shift. This is a union position and will be part of Operating Engineers Local 649. A CDL A Driver is qualified and licensed to successfully, efficiently, and accurately operate, deliver, load, unload, rigging, tie down, perform deliveries and perform revisits on all types of equipment rented and sold by the Company, as well as write all necessary reports required by their assigned sales, rental, and/or service departments. A CDL A Driver is required to maintain a CDL A endorsement on their driver license and a clean driving record in accordance with the Company's insurance carrier's requirements. Additional responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to: * Timely delivery of equipment and basic upkeep of the truck* Maintain daily trip logs* Accurately complete paperwork* Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities* Performs other duties as assigned* Consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time Qualifications * Must have at least one year of previous experience driving or military service with MOS Code 88M* Heavy equipment hauling and tie down experience is a plus* Good mechanical skills, previous wrenching experience is highly preferred* Must have clean driving record and valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Class A certification* Knowledge of DOT laws* Good people skills* Language Skills - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.* Mathematical Skills - Basic: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.* Reasoning Ability - Basic: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Physical Demands/Work Environment: * Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will talk/hear; Frequently will stand, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; Occasionally will reach with arms* Lift and/or Move Functions: Regularly up to 50 pounds; Occasionally from 51 to 100+ pounds* Work Environment: Occasionally will work near moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat or cold (non-weather related), risk of electrical shock About Alta: Culture is Job #1.
