Overview Collector, Drug Testing Unity Place - Bloomington
Part-Time 19.5 hours/week, Not Benefitted 1st Shift, Monday,
Wednesday, Friday 9a-4p This position is responsible for the safe
transportation of patients, specimens, supplies, medication, film,
records, equipment and miscellaneous items About UnityPoint Health

behavioral health care needs of the community. Our compassionate

discuss our full benefits package! Responsibilities Displays an
understanding of general specimen collection guidelines a. Collects
urinalysis samples per federal protocol, using universal
precautions (gloves, etc). b. Packages samples for mailing via
FedEx; calls Fed Ex to arrange for pickup. c. Recognizes a sample
that is not acceptable for testing d. Refers to other staff or
manual for correct collection and handling protocol e. Processes
samples as directed by procedure or protocol f. Treats each patient
with respect and dignity during the collection process g. Labels
samples as per policy h. Verifies patient identity prior to
collection a specimen i. Notifies appropriate chain when a sample
is not obtained or not acceptable for testing j. Monitors supplies
and notifies supervisor when supplies are getting low. 70%
Maintains documentation in compliance with organizational
standards, Federal Probation requirements, Mental Health Codes, and
licensure requirements that is complete, accurate, and timely. a.
Completes the sign in logs, chain of custody lab forms, and
non-billable notes if something out of the ordinary happens. b.
Notifies Federal Probation staff at the end of the day of the
individuals who failed to show up for each collection day. c.
Accurately completes filing in charts as needed. 20% Basic UPH
- Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of
Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety
- Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with
regular, reliable attendance.
- Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications
required for the position.
- Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and
other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
- Completes all annual education and competency requirements
within the calendar year.
- Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance
requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g.
Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any
questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate
attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate
action on concerns reported by department staff related to

OS and learning new applications. . Other: Use of usual and
customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the
position. Must have control over personal use of all mood altering
chemicals and behaviors. If recovering from an addiction, must
currently have a minimum of 2 years of uninterrupted recovery.
