Chestnut Health Systems is seeking an intern to work on a
project which consists of assisting in decision making regarding
the selection of telehealth equipment, software and applications to
advance Chestnut's delivery of primary and behavioral health
services. The internship is located at our Bloomington, IL
To advance the work of the Fellow the Vice President of Strategy
will meet with the intern weekly to advise, encourage and guide
their work. This critical project will assist Chestnut in
continuing to drive seamless, whole-person care, ensuring each
individual's needs are met through comprehensive, coordinated
clinical and administrative services. Sustainable telehealth
services will enable us to provide comprehensive services to
communities where access to quality care is limited or impossible
to receive due to lack of local providers or other barriers such as
lack of transportation or distance to the nearest provider.
Chestnut Health Systems is a leading provider of behavioral and
primary health care services. Over four decades, Chestnut has grown
to over 700 committed, compassionate employees providing substance
use, mental health and primary care treatment to patients in
Central and Southern Illinois. We provide fully integrated care for
all of our patients by combining behavioral health care services
with our community-based primary care health centers. Chestnut also
conducts research and training throughout the U.S.A.
Conduct a literature review of evidence based use of technology
in primary care and behavioral health and the outcomes associated
with their use, including but not limited to health apps such as
TalkSpace, Lyra, BetterHelp, and retail counseling at stores such
as Walmart) Work with clinical teams to determine the type of
technology and equipment needed for support of provision of
Research technology/equipment to meet the identified needs
identified in #2.
Research technology that would enhance the patient and staff
Make recommendations for new technology and equipment.
Must be participating in the Illinois State University Stevenson
Center Fellowship program.
