Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with and influences senior leadership in the evaluation, recommendation and deployment of learning technologies that advance enterprise goals/initiatives.
  • Becomes a Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator - currently Cornerstone OnDemand.
  • Conducts complex research and analysis to quantify business opportunities and issues; develops formal recommendations for the selection, and implementation of leading-edge learning technology solutions.
  • Responsible for proactive maintenance of all Learning and Development related systems; defining and updating related processes and protocols; instituting appropriate escalation procedures to seamlessly address issues and manage risks; and coordinates with business learning teams.
  • Works with internal and external business partners to generate solutions to business issues and plans/implements those solutions.
  • Acts as a liaison between management, technical staff, vendors and others, to understand business issues and develop/recommend the most cost-effective and impactful solutions.
  • Uses strong project management practices (Agile, Waterfall, Kanban, Scrum, SAFe) to set strategy for multi-work stream projects; plans, develops and implements learning solutions; keeps stakeholders engaged and informed.
  • Prepares and gives presentations to leadership on project status.

    • Job may require incumbent to travel overnight via commercial transportation or driving motor vehicles or both, to attend training programs and to visit field locations.
    • May be expected to work irregular hours (weekends and/or evenings), based on workload and job requirements.

        State Farm has 3 openings for a Learning Technologies Analyst. As part of the Learning & Development department, this person will lead and execute the learning technology strategy. In addition the candidates will function as the technical expert and system administrator for State Farm's enterprise Learning Management System (currently Cornerstone OnDemand) and eLearning authoring tools (currently Adobe Captivate).
        • Prior Cornerstone OnDemand (or other LMS systems) experience is strongly preferred.
        • Bachelor's degree desired.
        • Minimum of 5 years' experience supporting learning technologies and processes.
        • Role will be responsible for overall LMS administration and optimization, including vendor management, technical issue research, user communication, metrics, reporting, update release management, and system testing.
        • Strong communications skills and the ability to interact with multiple key stakeholders are essential. An understanding and ability to articulate business/technical requirements is essential.
        • Proficiency in analytical and critical thinking (including root cause analysis) needed.
        • There is a significant technical and project management aspect to this role, so prior project management experience and the ability to manage various work streams is required.
        • Strong Database and Excel knowledge also required.
        • An innovative and agile mind-set.
        • Experience providing consultative and strategic technology solutions.
          Competitive candidates should have the ability to design business and technical solutions by researching, evaluating, testing, recommending and supporting learning technologies; basing their recommendation on current and future technology options and the strategy to overcome the business challenge. Candidates should have strong communication skills (both written and verbal) to document and to share recommendations with leadership. The candidate will work closely with other L&D roles and across all business lines to consult on learning technology capabilities. Candidates must have the ability to translate business needs/use cases into technical/functional requirements that tie to measurable performance gaps. Applicants must have the ability to think strategically, while delivering practical solutions. They should have experience with change management including both short and long term project lifecycles (Agile project methodology experience desired).

          Experience with the following technologies is strongly preferred:
          • Cornerstone OnDemand - Learning Module
          • Adobe Captivate and Presenter
          • Content Management Systems including SharePoint
          • SCORM and xAPI
          • Social/Collaborative Communities including MOOCs
