Overview
Job Specifics
- The Children's Hospital of Illinois is a Level 1 Trauma Center
and seeks a pediatric orthopedic surgeon for rapidly growing
practice. This opportunity would best suit an individual willing to
grow a general pediatric orthopedic surgical and non-surgical
practice with an opportunity to develop a subspecialty interest in
areas such as clubfoot care, neuromuscular, and spinal
deformity.
- Children's Hospital of Illinois is the primary pediatric
teaching facility for the University of Illinois College of
Medicine, Peoria, IL, so the candidate may apply for
associate/assistant professor status.
- Supported by a growing referral base of 100 CHOI pediatric
sub-specialists, over 157 OSF Medical Group practice locations in
Illinois and 1,000+ physicians on staff at OSF Saint Francis
Medical Center.
- High percentage of index cases; state of the art equipment
including, but not limited to O-Arm navigation, Medtronic Stealth
navigation, ROSA, and MazrX.
- Comprehensive support services to optimize surgical care across
the continuum. Services included but not limited to the following:
fellowship trained pediatric anesthesiologists, fellowship-trained
radiologist, child life services, neonatologists, pediatric
intensivists/hospitalists and Physician Assistant support in the
OR.
- Must be board certified or eligible in orthopedics with a
fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery; be eligible for an
Illinois license; have strong teaching abilities and interpersonal
skills.

Division Lead Specifics
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for the Pediatric
Orthopedic Division, supporting the continued growth of clinical
services and helping position Children's Hospital of Illinois as a
destination center for pediatric specialty care.
- Strengthen collaboration across CHOI and OSF HealthCare by
fostering strong relationships with referring providers,
multidisciplinary teams, and community partners.
- Oversee quality, safety, and performance initiatives within the
division to ensure exceptional patient outcomes and a consistent,
high value experience for families.
- Support the academic mission through active participation in
teaching, mentorship, and scholarly activity in partnership with
the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria.
- Guide development, recruitment, and retention to build a
sustainable and high performing division.
- Collaborate with other faculty in maintaining excellence in
general pediatric education within pediatrics, emergency medicine
and surgery.
- Maintain a clinical service program to meet regional
needs.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Experience: At least 5 years of pediatric orthopedics practice
with leadership experience
Education: Doctorate
Licenses/Certifications:
- Physician Licensed to practice medicine in current state.
- Board certified or board eligible in the appropriate
specialty(ies).
- Obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate
privileges.
- Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and
other federal heath programs. Physician shall meet all
qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional
malpractice and other liability coverage.
- Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the
State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.

Academy
- Full time, clinical base salary pay range for this position:
$675,000-$729,000.
- Range shown should be used as an estimate and can be impacted
by many factors including but not limited to the critical need of
the position, overall experience and qualifications, community
need, and other considerations. Additional compensation components
may be applicable such as bonuses or incentives which may or may
not be based on metric achievement.
