working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Ortho RN
in Springfield, Illinois, 62781! Job Title: Registered Nurse
Profession: Nursing Specialty: Orthopedics Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years
of experience required. License: Must have active IL license to
apply. Certifications: BLS required. ACLS preferred. Must-Have:
Telemetry experience preferred. Required IV therapy and phlebotomy
skills/experience including PICC line management and starting IVs.
Cerner experience preferred. Previous travel experience is
preferred. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse
specializing in orthopedics. The shift involves night hours,
specifically 18:45 to 07:15. The unit consists of 38 beds. The
nurse will work every other weekend. Clinicians will float to other
medical-surgical departments as needed. Candidates should ideally
have no more than 5 days of restricted time off. The client may
call off up to 36 hours per thirteen-week assignment without
compensating for canceled hours. If candidates are placed on-call
instead of being called off, that will count as a canceled shift.
The patient population includes adults and geriatrics requiring
orthopedic elective surgeries such as total joint replacements for
hips, knees, shoulders, and spine. Additionally, trauma patients
requiring orthopedic surgical interventions and those with
osteomyelitis or infections involving skin and bone needing
long-term IV antibiotics will be managed. Special procedures may
include traction, bedside debridement, and complex dressing
changes. Special equipment utilized includes slings, walkers,
canes, traction, casts, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps, syringe
pumps, hospital beds, PAS boot machines, vital sign monitors, and
