Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Springfield, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,302 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active state license required Certifications: ACLS and BLS required Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred. Cerner experience required. Teaching hospital experience preferred. Level I Trauma experience preferred. Description: The position requires a Registered Nurse specializing in an Intermediate Care Unit. The average daily census is 38 patients. The nursing team will work every other weekend. First-time travelers are accepted. Floating to like units as needed is required. Candidates will manage care for adult patients with various cardiac conditions. Experience in cardiac monitoring, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, is necessary. Candidates should be familiar with telemetry, both remote and unit-based monitoring. Skills in pre and post- cardiac procedures are required, including managing sheaths after cardiac catheterizations. Proficiency in medication management, including managing and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, is essential. Experience with respiratory management, including CPAP/BIPAP and high-flow nasal cannula, is expected. Candidates must also have skills in intravenous therapy, including access and management of lines. Knowledge of gastrointestinal and renal care, including feeding tube management and hemodialysis, is necessary. Isolation precautions and wound care management are important aspects of this role. The Registered Nurse should be prepared to respond to emergencies and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. A strong ability to teach patients and their families is preferred. Commitment to professional development and adherence to clinical protocols is essential. The nursing team will engage in a supportive environment focused on quality patient care.
