Registered Nurse (RN) | Neuro Location: Peoria, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,362 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 18 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Neuro RN in Peoria, Illinois, 61637! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Neuro Med-Surg Acute Duration: 18 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Active Illinois License Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must have level 1 trauma experience. Must have previous travel experience. Must have prior experience working on a dedicated neuro unit. Heparin drip experience is required. Description: This position is for a registered nurse in a neuro med-surg acute setting. The unit consists of 54 beds, primarily semi-private. The nurse-to-patient ratio on nights is 1:5-6. Common diagnoses include stroke, spine surgery, seizures, brain tumors, and head injuries. Nurses are required to titrate drips, including Heparin. A charge nurse and house supervisor are available 24/7. Patient care techs are present, with ratios of 1:9-10 during the day and evening, and 1:10-12 at night. RNs may need to troubleshoot respiratory equipment, although high flow is rare. Telemetry is managed house-wide, with monitors provided. The schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts per week, including weekend and holiday rotations. Floating to other units may occur but will be limited to skills that the nurse is competent to perform. There is no specific dress code, but tattoos must be covered while on duty.
