Registered Nurse (RN) | Med/Surg / Orthopedic Location: Springfield, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $3,170 per week Shift Information: Nights - 4 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Orthopedics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required. License: Must have an active license to apply. Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred. Must-Have: Telemetry experience preferred. Required IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including PICC line management and starting IVs. Cerner experience preferred. Previous travel experience is preferred. Description: Position is for an Orthopedic Registered Nurse. The shift includes nights, with a schedule of 4x12 or 3x12 hours. The unit has a total of 38 beds. Candidates are expected to work every third weekend. The facility requires floating to other Med Surg departments as needed. Orientation will consist of 16 hours. Candidates should ideally have no more than 5 days of requested time off. The facility may call off up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without penalties. If candidates are placed on-call instead of being called off, it will count as a called-off shift. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics undergoing orthopedic elective surgeries such as total joint replacements and spine surgeries. Familiarity with special procedures and equipment is necessary, including traction, bedside debridement, complex dressing changes, and the use of slings, walkers, IV pumps, and vital sign monitors. Candidates must have the ability to manage complex patient diagnoses, including trauma patients needing orthopedic surgical interventions and infections requiring long-term IV antibiotics.
