JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Cardiac Electrophysiology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Bloomington, IL Service Setting: Hospital (Inpatient & Outpatient) Coverage Type: Call Only Coverage Period: Start Date: 10/15/2025 End Date: Ongoing Clinical Shift Schedule: N/A On-Call Shift Schedule: 24-hour call (7a7a) Call Type: Telephone (30-minute response time) Call Ratio: 1:1 Callback Rate: Minimal Rare callbacks (mostly telephone triage) COVERAGE DATES Starting October 15, 2025 Ongoing PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Primarily Adults (98%), occasional Pediatrics (2%) Patient Volume/Census: Variable, depending on call activity Admissions: None expected while on call Rounding: Not required Phone Consults: Yes Case Mix: Cardiac Electrophysiology, Cardiac Rhythm Management FACILITY INFORMATION Trauma Level: N/A EMR System: Epic Specialty Backup Available: Cardiac Surgery, Structural Heart Program Support Staff Available: Multidisciplinary cardiac and ICU teams Reason for Coverage: Backfill due to departure of current EP physician; maintain service continuity PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: Yes Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 60 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES Cardiac Pacemaker / ICD Insertion, Revision, Replacement, or Removal Conversion of Cardiac Rhythm Cardiac Ablation Procedures Watchman Device Implantation Loop Recorder Implantation and Removal JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active IL Medical License Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiac Electrophysiology DEA: Active DEA Certifications: ACLS, CSR License Experience: Minimum 1 year in Electrophysiology IMLC Candidates: Not accepted Other Qualifications: Proficiency in EP procedures and hospital EMR systems (Epic) DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide 24-hour call coverage for cardiac electrophysiology cases Consult remotely for hospitalist and ICU services as needed Respond to urgent calls or procedural needs within 30 minutes Ensure continuous access to EP care during coverage periods Collaborate with cardiac surgery and structural heart teams Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR
