JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Interventional Cardiologist Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Bloomington, IL Service Setting: Hospital Coverage Type: Clinical Call Coverage Period: Start Date 9/19/2025 Ongoing Clinical Shift Schedule: 24-hour weekend shifts On-Call Shift Schedule: Friday 5p Monday 7a Call Type: Telephone Call Ratio: 1:1 Call Response Time: 30 minutes COVERAGE DATES Starting 9/19/2025 Estimated 12 shifts per month PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults Patient Volume/Census: Variable, STEMI coverage as needed Admissions: No admissions expected while on call Rounding: Included Phone Consults: Yes Case Mix: Cardiology, Interventional Procedures FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic Specialty Backup Available: Hospitalists, ICU teams, PSA Cardiologists Support Staff Available: PA, MD Reason for Coverage: New Position PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 60 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered (Mileage, Airfare, Lodging up to $150/night, Parking, Rental Car & Fuel, Ground Transportation) REQUIRED PROCEDURES Cardiac catheterizations Percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) and related interventional procedures Cath Lab procedures for inpatients STEMI auto-accept program coverage JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active Illinois license required (IMLC not accepted) Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Interventional Cardiology DEA: Active DEA Certification required Certifications: ACLS, CSR License Experience: Minimum 1 year Other Qualifications: Proficiency with Epic EMR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide full Interventional Cardiology coverage on weekends Perform inpatient Cath Lab procedures as needed Cover hospital's STEMI auto-accept program for regional patients Consult with hospitalist and ICU teams for admitted patients Collaborate with other employed and PSA cardiologists Manage telephone call coverage with 30-minute response time Work independently as the solo physician on coverage
