JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Cardiac Electrophysiologist • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Bloomington, IL • Service Setting: Hospital • Coverage Type: Clinical Call • Coverage Period: Start Date 10/15/2025 Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: Mix of clinic, ambulatory procedures, and inpatient coverage • On-Call Shift Schedule: 24-hour call, 7a 7a • Call Type: Telephone • Call Ratio: 1:1 • Call Response Time: 30 minutes COVERAGE DATES • Starting 10/15/2025 • Estimated 15 shifts per month PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults • Patient Volume/Census: Variable • Admissions: No admissions expected while on call • Rounding: Included • Phone Consults: Yes • Case Mix: Electrophysiology, Cardiac Surgery, Structural Heart FACILITY INFORMATION • EMR System: Epic • Specialty Backup Available: Hospitalists, ICU services, Multidisciplinary team support • Support Staff Available: Collaborative coverage (not solo) • Reason for Coverage: New Position PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: Yes • Credentialing Timeline: 60 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered (Mileage, Airfare, Lodging up to $150/night, Parking, Rental Car & Fuel, Ground Transportation) REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Cardiac pacemaker or cardioverter/defibrillator insertion, revision, replacement, and removal • Conversion of cardiac rhythm • Measurement of cardiac rhythm (percutaneous approach) • Cardiac ablation procedures • Watchman device implantation • Loop recorder implantation and removal JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active Illinois license required (IMLC not accepted) • Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiac Electrophysiology • DEA: Active DEA Certification required • Certifications: ACLS, CSR License • Experience: Minimum 1 year • Other Qualifications: Proficiency with Epic EMR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide inpatient and outpatient electrophysiology services • Perform diagnostic and interventional EP procedures • Participate in multidisciplinary care for cardiac surgery and structural heart patients • Consult with hospitalist and ICU teams for admitted patients • Deliver continuous coverage during the anticipated departure of current EP physician • Manage telephone call coverage with 30-minute response time • Support growing cardiac surgery and structural heart program
