Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:00 - 06:30) Experience: Minimum of 1 year required; first-timers accepted License: Active Illinois license required Certifications: BLS and RRT required Must-Have: - Required Work Setting Experience: Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department - Required Airway Management Devices/Suctioning Skills/Experience: Endotracheal tube/suctioning, Extubation, Intubation Assist, Nasal airway placement, Nasal airway suctioning, Oral airway placement, Oropharyngeal/suctioning, Sputum specimen collection, Tracheostomy/suctioning - Required Nebulizer Skills/Experience: Hand-held, T-Piece, Trach collar - Required Oxygen Therapy Skills/Experience: Bag and mask, ET Tube, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), T-Piece, Trach Collar, Venturi Masks - Required Ventilator Management Skills/Experience: BiPAP, CPAP, Troubleshooting high pressure alarms, Weaning from mechanical ventilation - Cerner experience required - Teaching Hospital Experience, Community Hospital Experience, Trauma Level I and II experience preferred Description: Position is for a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) working night shifts. Clinicians will work every other weekend. On-call shifts may be required as needed for the department. Float within scope will be necessary to meet facility needs. Schedule requests can be discussed with the manager. Candidates are accepted from the local area with no radius restrictions. RTO should ideally be no more than 5 days. The client may call off up to 36 hours per assignment without compensation for canceled hours. If the client cancels more hours than permitted, they will be billed for excess shifts. If candidates are placed on-call instead of being called off, that will count as a called-off shift. Candidates must have skills and experience in the required airway management and oxygen therapy devices. Ventilator management experience is essential for this role. Candidates may be required to complete specific charting requirements using Cerner. All responsibilities must be fulfilled throughout the duration of the contract. Candidates must adhere to all facility policies during their assignment.
