Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Surgical Acute Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights, 3 shifts per week with a rotating weekend schedule (every 3rd weekend) Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a relevant setting License: Active IL license required Certifications: BLS required; NIHSS preferred Must-Have: - Negative drug screen - Understanding of facility's Drug-Free Campus policy Job Description: - Utilize electronic systems for computerized charting using Epic. - Administer medications through Pyxis medication dispensing systems. - Perform patient assessments, wound care, medication administration, IV insertion, and monitoring of vital signs. - Provide emergency care and ensure interdisciplinary communication and documentation. - Deliver patient-centered care and effectively handle medical equipment. - Navigate electronic health records proficiently. - Work within a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5, potentially increasing to 6 in extreme situations. - Be prepared for possible floating to the med-surg department under extreme circumstances. - Wear any color scrubs with non-slip footwear as per dress code. - Participate in inpatient unit-specific training and orientation facilitated by the education department, with preceptorship varying by experience level. - Orientation hours are nonbillable, and guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation.
