Job Description:

Christie Clinic's department of Internal Medicine/Pediatrics is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner at our Medical Hills Clinic, Monday - Friday. Care of primary care patients with acute health needs, and exacerbation of chronic care conditions. The Nurse Practitioner provides general care, in a medical facility, under the supervision of a Physician. APRN license is required.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching, and lifting to 75 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a medical office setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, hazardous waste, bodily fluids and other waste common to a health care environment. Ionizing radiation and medicinal preparations are also common. Requirements include working weekends, evenings, holidays, etc. as associated with working in Medical Hills.

JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all the duties assigned.)

• Obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients. Review patient records.
• Perform a complete and/or focused physical exam and record findings.
• Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
• Interpret test results and synthesize data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention.
• Administer injections, immunizations, and/or oral medications. Perform wound care including suturing. Administer treatments including nebulizer, oxygen, other. Apply splints, dispense crutches. Electronically prescribe medications. Document and dispense sample medication.
• Interview and advise patient and family regarding health and illness prevention. Recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
• Interview and advise patient and family regarding medication and treatment instructions.
• Provide patient education. Document in EMR.
• Document assessment, medical decision making and treatment plan.
• Triage patient phone calls and provide consultation.
• Provide independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations.
• Perform related work as required.
