Overview

Exciting opportunity to implement and further develop the inaugural Family Medicine Residency Program at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, Illinois. The application process has been completed and we are anxiously awaiting accreditation approval expected in October 2021. This program is an affiliate of University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP) and a partner with Chestnut FQHC. Lead the design and operation of our Family Medicine Residency Program, where we are committed to building an evidence-based training curriculum that empowers the next generation of physicians. We will launch the first class of residents in July 2022, with a goal of 6 residents per year (6-6-6). The physician we hire will:

Inspire development and evaluation of the educational curriculum to optimize residents' learning potential.Champion faculty in developing innovative strategies to recruit, retain, and promote diverse staffing.Partner with Chestnut FQHC clinicians to support the teaching mission and improve delivery capacity while providing access to high-quality care for vulnerable populations. OSF HealthCare St. Joseph Medical Center is part of a faith-based, 15-hospital system that has more than 23,000 Mission Partners and a well-established primary care network serving patients with the greatest care and love. OSF St. Joseph is located in the thriving Central Illinois community of Bloomington-Normal, which boasts a long-standing commitment to excellence in education. Chestnut Family Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center committed to providing safe and quality services to the underserved population. CFHC multidisciplinary team members work within a Patient Centered Medical Home framework to provide patient care utilizing a holistic approach that fully integrates primary and behavioral healthcare services. University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP) sponsors 21 ACGME-Accredited residency and fellowship programs. Residents are to remain on campus for their training years, thus advoiding disruption of relocation. Starting salary and benefits for first-year residents rank above the national average.
Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Doctorate Licenses/Certifications: Physician Licensed to practice medicine in current state.Board certified or board eligible in the appropriate specialty (ies).Obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges.Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs.Physician shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
