Job Description:

General: The Operations Manager is responsible for the management and oversight of the service, logistics and warehouse staff at all locations in the assigned region

Responsibilities

  • Familiar with and enforces all DOT and FDA regulations as they pertain to oxygen.
  • Familiar with and enforces ACHC required policies and procedures as they pertain to logistics, service and warehouse related activities and customer/staff safety.
  • Oversees the efficient organization of delivery routes on a daily basis and the Service Technician, Warehouse and Logistics Dispatcher schedules.
  • Responsible for the daily management of logistics Scorecards and the evaluation of Service and Warehouse Technician performance, efficiency, and staffing.
  • Manages and coordinates performance improvement tracking and implementation of all service, logistics and warehouse action plans.
  • Facilitates the training and orientation of staff which includes new and continuing education as well as the development of new training topics and programs
  • Supervises the delivery of durable medical equipment and supplies to specified points of delivery; including the set-up of new hospice and facility accounts in conjunction with the sales and customer service teams.
  • Supervises the delivery of durable medical equipment, as well as other home care related equipment, to specific points of delivery.
  • Monitors mobile inventory and supplies.
  • Oversees the daily mobility inventory records and daily pick-up reconciliation with regard to inventory reconciliation. Works closely with the Purchasing department to ensure that PAR and inventory levels and monitored and updated as needed.
  • Completes bi-weekly reviews of the Spot Check Program and Customer Perception of Care surveys as related to Logistics staff activities.
  • Facilitates the resolution process for service-related complaints, property damage and accidents.
  • Manages the logistics communication system including cell phone and handheld delivery device usage.
  • Supervises the retrieval of rental return items and their proper handling and placement into the designated warehouse areas.
  • Oversees and coordinates the upkeep of delivery vehicles, including maintenance, repairs, interior and exterior cleanliness in conjunction with support staff.
  • Assists in the proper orientation and training of new personnel.
  • Promotes teamwork among co-workers. This includes assisting support staff, as needed.

    Qualifications

    A Education

    Graduate of an accredited high school with prior experience in the healthcare industry

    B. Licensing requirements

    Possess valid driver's license with an exceptional driving record

    Physical Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be able to read and speak English sufficiently
  • Excellent physical condition
  • Pass a physical examination
  • Pass drug screenings and remain drug-free
  • In an 8 hour day, may lift/ carry 75 lbs or more frequently
  • In an average 8 hour day, may spend half the time walking/standing while loading or

    unloading the truck.

    Orientation
    • Successfully complete the orientation program within 90 days of hire.
    • Be knowledgeable of and responsible for the current company policies and procedures as they relate to the job description. Gain knowledge via training by qualified staff members, continuing education/in-service, off-site training, and the Employee Handbook. Competence in company policies and procedures will be certified in writing.

      Additional Responsibilities
      • Maintain Performance Improvement Standards as defined in the company's Performance Improvement Plan.
      • Provides patient orientation, instructing on the proper use of equipment, when applicable.
      • Has knowledge of and adheres to procedures relating to infection control, i.e. cleaning procedures, contaminated supplies, personal protective equipment, and universal precautions.
      • Must have good personal grooming and hygiene.
      • Ensure confidentiality of patients' records including medical information.
      • Assist in training of staff
      • Perform other duties as requested
        Work Schedule

        Work Week
        Position typically requires 40 to 45 hours per week commitment.
