Position: NATIONAL ACCOUNTS MANAGERFunction:SalesLocation:Mid-WestPosted:1/2021REPORTS TOThis position will report to the Vice President of Sales.POSITION SUMMARY American Security Products Company, is seeking to add a key member to our management team. The National Accounts Manager will be responsible for maintaining and growing existing business as well as developing new accounts. Key to this individual's success will be their ability to build relationships with national retail chain accounts and turn those relationships into closed business. It will require that they put to use their prior sales experience as well as utilize their intellect and business acumen to navigate a highly complex market. High level of intellectual curiosity and flexibility.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:-- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts and successfully execute them -- Establish and maintain high-level relationships with business decision makers (C-level executives) at major retail corporations with multiple locations -- Secure new accounts while managing and growing sales revenue of existing key accounts -- The NAM will be a "hunter" finding potential new accounts, identifying decision makers, building relationships and closing business.-- Work with the internal team (sales, marketing, customer service, finance, etc.) to create strategies and processes for driving new business across product lines -- Prepare proposals and contracts to present to decision makers -- Investigate competitor products, promotions, and sales strategies -- Thoroughly understand pricing and overall marketing practices -- Conduct sales calls to follow up on all accounts to ensure satisfaction with all agreements made during the sales process -- Initiate and maintain close communication with customer/category marketing on an ongoing basis to provide direction with regard to the development, market testing and roll-out of new products specific to multi-unit chain accounts -- Represent American Security at industry trade shows -- Demonstrate superior knowledge and expertise of all aspects of American Security products -- Maintain records of customer contact in American Security's CRM system -- Participate in industry-related organizations, attend seminars and conferences as appropriate-- This role requires a strong sales/account management professional with a winning track record of successfully driving an organization's sales growth. Specifically, this individual must have direct experience managing large, national retail chain accounts. FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS-- Industry Experience required-- 7 - 10+ years of experience in progressively more challenging sales/account management roles -- A solid understanding of National Chain Accounts -- The ability to read, write, analyze and interpret complex technical specifications -- The ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with multiple abstract and concrete variables QUALIFICATIONS & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS-- Four-year college degree in related discipline.-- Under "typical" conditions, 50% travel expected.WORK PLACE CONDITIONSThe employee frequently is required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee will frequently use a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and viewing a computer screen. The employee will spend time within the manufacturing areas speaking to employees.The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
