Job Description:
Overview Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a full-time
Associate Director of Community Services for our Bloomington, IL
facility. Chestnut Health Systems is a leading provider of
behavioral and primary health care services. Over four decades,
Chestnut has grown to over 700 committed, compassionate employees
providing substance use, mental health and primary care treatment
to patients in Central and Southern Illinois. We provide fully
integrated care for all of our patients by combining behavioral
health care services with our community-based primary care health
centers. Chestnut also conducts research and training throughout
the U.S.A. Please note to be considered for a position you must

questions. Responsibilities Oversee the completion of required
paperwork in accordance with program and agency policies and
procedures, including but not limited to opening requirements,
mental health including level of functioning of clients--- needs,
treatment plans, progress notes and any other funder requirements.
Provide ongoing monitoring of services contained in the
individualized treatment plan to ensure timely provision of
services. Ensure that required documentation is submitted on the
day services are provided unless otherwise approved by a
supervisor. Oversee the provision of referrals, linkage, and
discharge planning to recommended Chestnut services and/or
community resources, especially involving continuing care treatment
options, housing, healthcare, food pantries, and community
supports. Provide and oversee advocacy, both client- and
system-centered, to ensure that basic rights of the chronically
mentally ill are protected. Monitor staff in providing appropriate
housing, substance use disorders (SUD) and mental health (MH)
services/interventions and documenting within required timeframes,
including crisis intervention, case management, individual, family
counseling, and/or client-centered consultation. Provide training
and clinical supervision for staff on housing, SUD, and MH specific
issues and topics as well as daily operations/functions. Complete
employee evaluations in a timely manner. Coordinate treatment
services as assigned by fielding intake calls, staffing cases with
clinical staff and making appropriate recommendations according to
ASAM/DMH criteria. Supervise designated staff meetings by
encouraging participation from all staff involved, advocating for
clients, and facilitating problem-solving related to age
appropriate intervention strategies. Maintain appropriate staffing
patterns by completing interviewing and hiring process and
balancing billable services with staffing patterns so as to support
the existing staff and advocate for additional staff as warranted.

strength-based approach, communicating client outcomes and success
stories, encouraging staff and advocating for their success.
Support and model Recovery Value of Respect by speaking to staff,
clients and colleagues assertively, addressing issues directly when
needed and maintaining positive relationships with other
departments. Support and model Recovery Value of Empowerment by
offering support and guidance to staff, encouraging them to engage
and invest in program development and to be involved in setting
their professional goals. Support and model Recovery Value of
Health/Wellness by modeling and encouraging staff to engage in
healthy eating, physical exercise and healthy coping strategies.
Encourage and support scheduled breaks, reasonable work hours and
responsible use of vacation and personal time. Take responsibility
for the cleanliness of the unit/building. Support and model
Recovery Value of Spirituality/Connectedness by maintaining
positive and healthy relationships with colleagues and staff,
encouraging teamwork and supporting colleagues and staff. Maintain
accessibility and responsiveness to staff. Participate in
department training, educational activities, and intra-agency
meetings in order to achieve/maintain professional development and
upgrade knowledge/skills. Develop a working knowledge of the Mental
Health Code Rules 132 and 140, HUD/housing regulations, Joint
Commission regulations, SUPR 2060 regulations, the Confidentiality
Act, and the application of these codes/regulations to client
services. Maintain contracts and grants in support of treatment and
activities and/or other services assigned. Actively participate in
quality improvement initiatives, including communicating
statistical data to QI and staff, and setting department QI goals.
Promote Chestnut---s culture of customer service excellence through
the adherence to Chestnut---s behavioral standards for customer
service. Qualifications Must have a Master---s degree in
psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field. Three (3)
years clinical experience required and one (1) year supervisory and
administrative experience preferred. Illinois licensure of LCSW,
LCPC, or LMFT required. Knowledge in Trauma Informed Care, Mental
Health, and Substance Use Disorders required. Requires basic
computer skills and experience to include MS Word, MS Excel,
Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and an electronic medical record (EMR).
