OverviewCreative Services is the in-house creative solutions partner for State Farm-- and we are seeking an experienced, innovative Chief Engineer to champion the application of emerging technologies to ensure quality, integration and compliance across multiple environments that may include the following: acquisition, broadcast, post-production, studios, facilities and transmission. Our team is a mix of strategic thinkers and creative minds who love to collaborate with business partners to support their business and communication strategies with highly creative solutions. The Chief Engineer understands how media production applications interconnect across platforms and how they impact our associates and end users. You are the leading subject matter resource within the department across various media production disciplines as well as the technical infrastructure across multiple platforms. Collaborating across business areas, you develop holistic technical solutions to ensure quality, integration and compliance across multiple environments and lead integration, installation and upgrades of media production technologies. Responsibilities

  • Monitor level of maturity and facilitates delivery of media products to business areas through continuously improved methodologies
  • Identifies the need for development of Creative Services' associates across media function teams
  • Leads work of media product teams in the most complex environments
  • Oversees the implementation, operational support, maintenance, and optimization of media products and services
  • Influences leadership and business areas in the formation and adoption of technological strategies
  • Provides development and performance expectations for vendor applications
  • Utilizes understanding of strategic production architectural direction to identify gaps in standards, guidance, and tooling
  • Builds, maintains, and champions collaborative relationships with colleagues from external organizations whenever applicable and acting as a resource on the same
  • Contributes/writes articles for publications and/or participates in academic and industry conferences
  • Leads integration / installation / upgrades of media production technologies
  • Ensures all system documentation/schematics are up to date
  • Leads technical training and workshops as necessary Qualifications
    • 9+ years' Broadcast Engineering experience, Network Engineering is a plus.
    • Understanding of IP Infrastructure, legacy video networks, advanced video delivery methods, software, network security, digital hardware, digital asset management systems, post-production environments, understanding of encoding protocols, end to end live streaming pipelines.
    • Deep understanding and application of the following broadcast/streaming technologies: Network Device Interface (NDI), Secure Reliable Transport (SRT); Dante; Real Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP/S); Serial Digital Interface (SDI)
    • Proficiency with Auto CAD, Visio, Wire Shark
    • Must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment and be able to make decisions on the fly.
    • Great communication skills, a can-do attitude, and collaborative working style are vital.
    • Must have the desire to work in a creative, demanding, competitive environment, while having superior attention to detail; focused.
    • An existing network of production, creative and media & entertainment resources
    • Collaborative with proven ability to work across teams and synthesize input from creative stakeholders
    • Bachelor's Degree, preferably with an engineering background or equivalent work experience Office Location-
