Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a full-time Financial Intake
Representative for our Bloomington, IL facility.

Conduct client interviews in person (or by phone in advance if
possible for scheduled clients) for the purposes of completing
demographic, financial and other information needed for
For past clients, review AR account for any outstanding balances
and if necessary, make arrangements for collecting these past due
Access approved websites and software packages to verify current
eligibility prior to the scheduled appointment when possible or
when face-to-face with the client. Scan and attach verification of
coverage, medical cards and driver's license to client record in
Assist families with Medicaid applications, grant funding
requirements, and address other questions that relate to financial
arrangements as necessary.
For clients that require a waiver for DASA (grant) approval, have
client or responsible party complete and return the waiver
Enter all information obtained into EMR in a timely and accurate
manner and after evaluating all funding sources available,
determine fund source priority and enter all appropriate
information accurately. Follow up with client to complete any
missing information that is required to complete the intake and
update EMR as necessary.
Thoroughly explain, complete, and obtain all required signatures
from clients (or responsible parties) pertaining to the Consent to
Treat and Payment Responsibility forms.
Distribute the following required information to the client or
responsible party: a) Chestnut rate schedule; b) copy of signed
payment authorization; c) Chestnut Payment Policy; d) Client Rights
brochure; and e) any other information as required.
Contact the client's insurance company in order to verify existing
benefits. Complete the insurance verification form and forward to
Utilization Review. If appropriate, notify the client of any
services not covered by their benefits.
Complete required paperwork (i.e. Referrals, SSRs or Prob 45s,
etc.) on each client in accordance with program and agency policies
Review all intakes daily for accuracy and correct any intake errors
identified by AR staff.
Participate in ongoing training and QA projects to stay abreast of
current policies and procedures.
Promote Chestnut's culture of customer service excellence through
the adherence to Chestnut's behavioral standards for customer
Position requires a high school diploma or GED.
A minimum of one (1) year experience in an office clerical or
customer service environment required.
Position requires the ability to communicate in a professional
manner; exercise good judgment and discretion with a diverse group
of people; work independently with minimal supervision and handle
all materials in a confidential manner.
Position also requires excellent organizational and interpersonal
skills and the ability to effectively assist clients and their
families in the intake process.
Prior experience in a health services-related field required (i.e.,
medical clinic, hospital registration, medical insurance knowledge,
medical billing, etc.).
Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience in a Chemical Dependency/Mental Health environment
Satisfactory completion of Chestnut's background checking
